June 2017

June finally meant the last few days of school, including the Kindergarten graduation program.

School is finally out!

And my Century Ride in Cache Valley!  I love this ride!  Last year I did 50 and it was challenging.  This year I had a new bike, and wanted to check off the century ride from my bucket list.  Kehau has done these before and she usually barely even trains for them so I figured we could handle it.  I think our training went well.  The only problem is that after a couple hours on the bike, my shoulders get sore, especially one spot on my right side.  The problem was that we didn't taper at all.  We rode 70 the week before the race, because the schedules I had seen never tapered.  And it was fine, other than the pain in my shoulders.  But I didn't recover enough in that week before the race so my shoulder started hurting after only like 30 miles.  I took plenty of ibuprofen, and tried some icy-hot, which burned but not sure it helped at all.  It was a long ride, and for the most part it was good.  But the last 20 miles or so were pretty dang hard.  There was no position on the bike where my shoulder didn't hurt.  I was very happy to be done, and my shoulder hurt for weeks afterwards.  But it is a beautiful ride, and Kehau is a fun riding buddy.  And now I can check that one off the bucket list!  Not sure if I'll do another Century or not. Probably at some point.

My garden is going well this year!  And I've got Dylan helping pull weeds (for payment of course, he's saving for the stock market, remember)

The two older kids had a soccer camp all week the first week of summer, and then Kylee had a couple of tournaments.  Kylee had to miss the last part of the soccer camp so she and her friends were not in this picture.  Because of their tournament.
This was Kylee during the shoot-out in the tournament.  It's a fun game.
Summer fun.  Kylee and her friends walked to Maverick to buy shakes and candy.  I went to check on them and gave them a ride home.  Then they hung out in the backyard in the kiddie pool with the freezing water.

Ryan's friend Kaz from Japan came to visit again and this time he brought his whole family.  They didn't stay too long, but we had fun showing them Pie Face and hanging out a bit.

Kaden loves throwing rocks in the canal.  Simple joys.
The three older kids started swim club.  Kylee loves swimming.  Dylan and Sadie were not as thrilled about it.

Kylee had a big stake Activity Days activity.

Father's Day

Sadie's front teeth were loose and I knew it wouldn't be long before her baby teeth were gone so I took a few pictures of her one Sunday.

Sadie had a very loose tooth so we stopped by to have Grandpa pull it for her.

And shortly after that, her other front tooth got loose so she let Kylee pull it out.

That happened at the park in Logan.  We were there hanging out with my friends.  It was really hot.

June also means the lake!  Both swimming in the early mornings, and lake days with the kids and friends.

Dylan and I spent an afternoon conquering Bubble Bobble, googling how to get a "good" ending, and then beating it the right way!  Where was Google when I was little?

Lyndy and her kids came to visit, and we had hoped to go to the lake but the weather was crappy!  It had been so hot and the one day they came it was windy and rainy.  Boo.  So we went to Leo's Place.  Kaden had more fun watching the train along the wall than anything else.
