Because Sadie had a birthday party with her friends last year, she didn't get to have one this year. But we still like to do fun things with them for their birthday. Sadie decided she wanted to go to Lagoon again for Frightmares! We only had one Saturday available in October and we still had to skip Sadie's basketball game.
Frightmares is really fun! They have all these fun decorations.
Of course they have their regular rides too. The only problem was that it was the MOST CROWDED I have ever seen it. It wasn't all that bad at the beginning, still long but not crazy. But by evening, even rides like Sky Ride and Ferris Wheel were insanely long.
They had fun little Halloween areas for kids with these themed rooms where they gave the kids treats or toys. They were cute. (Kaden is the only one who would dance with the 50's girl)
The little straw "maze" was the same, just little treats or toys.
The haunted houses didn't start until 5, some of them 6. We got in line after dinner and we waited for over an hour. We chose the fun house one because it wasn't rated all that scary. Kaden wasn't excited though.
The Fun House of Fear was fun but not really scary. I wanted something really scary for Kylee and Dylan. We got in line for another scary one while Grandma took Sadie and Kaden on Sky Ride and ther other small rides. We waited in line for 45 minutes and barely moved a quarter of the length of the line. We gave up, knowing it would be closing time about when we got there. I was annoyed. You pay all that money and you really only have time to do one, maybe two of the haunted houses. Why not open the haunted houses earlier? They are indoors so they can still be dark. Plus they have Fast Passes for sale and I guess that's why we had to wait so long, because they let three of them in for every one of us. It probably would've been worth it to buy the Fast Pass, but for a family of 7, that adds up. After we abandoned our spot in line, we met up with the others and tried the Ferris Wheel. But even that was so long and we were tired. We headed over to get some ice cream instead, and Ryan took Sadie on Colossus because she likes that one. (Funny she liked Wicked when we went a couple months before but didn't want to go this time. Since it was her birthday celebration I didn't push her. Kaden also didn't like Bombora this time! He loved it last time. Kids are weird. He was tired though. Ryan took him to the grassy spot and let him nap for awhile.)
All in all, it was fun but probably not worth it so close to Halloween.
