September 2019

I've never gone to the trails during the school year before.  But this year, Grandma Cheryl was taking Kaden a lot on Fridays so he can play with Jason too.  So I had enough free time to go on Kariesa's birthday.  Erin came too and it was really fun!  And I've never been up there with the fall colors.

I don't usually swim at the lake after school starts either, but there were a few Saturdays left in September that were plenty warm.  And the lake is so fun to swim I just kept going.  This picture was a really foggy morning.
Harvesting is a fun time!  I have this recipe for soup that uses ALL veggies from my garden (other than garlic, which I don't grow).

We didn't get very many pears from our tree this year.  But I still ordered some along with a couple batches of peaches.  I LOVE peaches!!  And I made peach cobbler that was to-die-for.

Jax was chillin' in the vines and it was hilarious.  I could hear his meows but didn't see him right away.

Sadie started volleyball with her friends this year.  She was not all that excited to start but I pushed her into it and she ended up loving it!

Kylee ran cross country again this year.  Her and Averi have a lot of fun. I remember seeing people running cross country when I lived in California and I did not understand why anyone would do that, lol.  Back then I never really saw people out running for fun or exercise either.  Anyway, I'm proud of Kylee for running.  It takes a lot of mental strength to run distance and she has a goal to run a half marathon soon.

I finally planted sunflowers, which I planned on having the kids plant but none of them were interested, so I planted them myself.  And even though the bunnies ate quite a few of them when they started growing, we still had quite a few that were fun to see out there.

Kaden got to go to the fire station on a field trip at Preschool.

We went to Blast Off for a party for some of our neighbors kids and Kaden had a blast on the rock wall!  He did pretty darn good!

We got the grandchildren together to recreate the lollipop picture from 8 years ago.  It was fun.  These were from my phone so I didn't bother editing or anything.  Sara took the real pictures.

There was a Fall carnival at the school that the kids went to.  It's really fun having Rachel and Josh in school with Dylan and Sadie this year.  Kaden and Jason will be in Kindergarten together next year.

One of my favorite things to do is pick apples in the Fall.  Even though I haven't made applesauce in years.  I still love apples and we just eat them or I dry them.  We didn't have any apples this year either.  I want to say the weather played a part in us not having fruit, but clearly the orchard still had fruit.  I think it was just an off year for our trees.  They are bi-annual so we should get a lot this next year.  Kaden loves helping me pick apples.  And he loves eating them, even with a bad tooth.
