Soccer season came in hot! So much soccer in April. Kylee's team went to Boise to play in a "tournament" that's not really a tournament, but a handful of games with no championship or anything. I was bugged that her team decided to do this because it was on Kylee's birthday and she was supposed to have a piano recital that weekend too. Plus, last time we went to Boise we got destroyed. But the soccer was not horrible. A lot of our team was struggling with pains and injuries. Boise was not so good to me though. I had booked a Springhill Suites close to the field and I knew of a few other teammates staying there as well. While I was sitting at the first game, I got a call from the hotel telling me they were overbooked and didn't have a room for me. What?! How does that happen? And why was I the one booted? Because I hadn't checked in yet, or because I had booked on Hotels.com? Whatever the reason, there was nothing I could do about it. They said they had a room for me over at the other Springhill Suites in downtown Boise, that was about 15 minutes away. Not really a big deal in the long run, but I was super bugged. But the room was free, so I guess that's nice. After that game a handful of us went to Chipotle to eat. We had looked around for another place that sounded good and didn't really see anything. So we waited at Chipotle. We were second in line but they weren't helping the people in line. This young girl came out to tell us they were really backed up from online orders and they wouldn't be able to get to us for about 20 minutes. We thought about leaving again but really didn't have any other options close by so we stayed. She came out again and said the same thing, 20 more minutes, even though at least 10 minutes had passed. We watched as orders from online kept printing and they kept working on those while they ignored us for 45 minutes! The lady came and gave us soda cups so we could get drinks while we waited. It was so annoying! This is not how a restaurant is run! But they ended up giving us a meal free, along with the free drinks, so I guess it's hard to complain too much.
Because it was Kylee's birthday, we went and got Crumbl cookies for her team after their last game. They played in the morning, and then I took Averi and Kylee to go shopping, though there wasn't much to do after we had just been shopping in AZ. And I was feeling pretty tired and not wanting to walk around the mall, and the girls were not supposed to be walking around a lot either. We went to Helen's room and hung out with her and the girls she had until our last game. Then we passed out Crumbl cookies and got to make the long drive home. Kylee was working on her driving hours so she drove for a couple hours on the way, and she decided to drive for a bit on the way home. Only it was dark. And I was a bit nervous having her drive on the freeway in the dark. It's a lot more scary than driving on regular roads at regular speeds. A mistake at 80 mph is probably deadly. I was happy when she decided she wanted to be done and I could drive again.
Track also started for Dylan at Sandcreek. He really loves track and he did well even though he has to race against boys that look like they are full grown men already! And here's another spelling list of Kaden's, just for memory sake.
