The 4th of July is always a fun time with friends and family. I let Kylee talk me in to doing the 5K with her that morning. It's kind of a tradition now. But I am not fast lately so I wasn't excited. And then I found out that Kylee is not feeling fast either so I was wondering why on Earth we woke up so early to go out and torture ourselves by running hard for a full three miles. Ay ay ay. But I beat Kylee, for the record. And it's fun to share a hobby with her. Though her knees are acting up and she's not sure she is going to be a runner now.
Party in the heat with the family! We played games, Dylan tried to kill Kylee in tic tac toe (got it on video, it was pretty bad. Good thin she's tough and used to dealing with him.) We had fun playing kickball with kiddie pools. Brooke had her sister in town too so we had a few extra kids come over, which was fun.
Fireworks at my house that night. We watched the neighbor's show behind our house, which was pretty cool. It's fun how there are fireworks going off everywhere all over our neighborhood and the surrounding ones too. It's insane. And I don't know why we would bother going over to the river. I know it's pretty cool over there but there is no way to get out of there until 1am. Actually, Brooke went with her sister and they parked at the BMW dealership because they know the guy, and she said they got out pretty quickly. So MAYBE I would be willing to try that next year. We will see.
