Ross Park

It had been really rainy, not too hot but not cold.  Lots of thunderstorms and tons of moisture! But this last week it hit 87 degrees and I decided it was time to swim.  I tried to round up my friends for the lake but we ended up choosing a water park instead.  The plan was Rexburg because it’s closer but then we found out it was closed until this weekend.  So we made the trek to Pocatello to Ross Park.  My besties came and we had a GREAT day!

I really like this park.  The kiddie area is really safe and I can keep an eye on Sadie.

The big slide is fun and not too scary.  The lazy river is fun.  The deep pool is completely separate from the other stuff so I don’t have to worry about my kids wandering too deep.  And the lily pad course is really fun for Kylee and Dylan.  I bought a slide pass for all the kids and Sadie was planning on going, but then she got up the stairs and chickened out so she came back down to me.  I was waiting at the bottom watching for them.  I told her it was not scary and we watched a few people come down really easily.  Then a small child came down and used the lifeguard to catch her so Sadie was able to see how easy it was.  So she decided to be brave.  After Kylee and Dylan came down, I sent them back up with Sadie again.  This time she went down.  She still got dunked a little more than she probably would’ve liked, but she had fun.  Not so much fun that she wanted to wait in line for it again, though.  The line is always the problem with the slide.  Kylee hates waiting in line while she’s wet and cold.

I told Kylee and Dylan to stay together.  They did the lily pad game for awhile.
I made Dylan wear his life jacket when they went in the lazy river, but later I went in with them and it was obvious that Dylan could touch just fine and wasn’t really in danger so I let him go without the jacket.  Sadie, on the other hand, had to wear her floaties.

I had to hold Kaden so I needed Sadie to at least have some help from her floaties.  They worked well.  She paddled along and had fun.  Occasionally she would panic a little, or just get tired and I would grab her hand and pull her to me.  It was fun.

Kaden was SO good!  He liked the water, he liked walking around with me.  He liked being held by Liza.

He had fun kicking around in the lazy river.  And eventually I nursed him and he fell asleep on my lap for awhile while I sat on the grass and snacked and chatted with friends.  Kylee and Dylan kept playing together and Sadie played with Sydney!

I had the best time and my kids loved it too.  I was so happy that Kaden was easy.  It makes me excited to do fun things this summer.  (Didn't realize this was such a bad picture at the time, it's hard to see your phone with the bright sunshine.)
