On the way to Lagoon, it was raining. A lot.
We started getting pretty nervous that our day was going to turn out a
lot different than we had planned.
Especially since we hadn’t even brought jackets. But lucky us, as soon as we pulled into the
park, it stopped.
We grabbed some In ‘n Out Burger for lunch. And I packed a cooler with wheels for us to
have snacks and dinner eventually. It
worked out well, though it was difficult to drag the cooler, and push the
stroller with Kaden at the same time.
Right when we got there, we headed for the line for Cannibal. It was long.
Grandma and Brooke met us there.
Grandma took the baby, the cooler, Sadie, Tyson and Justin and headed
back to the smaller rides while Ryan, Brooke, Kylee, Hailee, Dylan and I stood
in line for the ride.
We were nearing the front of the line when the line stopped
moving. The ride stopped running. And we stood there for like 45 minutes
waiting. They were adjusting something
with the ride. Up until then Brooke wasn’t
nervous, but suddenly all the possibilities of things going wrong started
worrying her. And the track was wobbling
in one area. I thought it was pretty
funny. I mean, Brooke starting to freak
was funny. The 45 minute wait in the sun
without the line moving at all was not funny.
But we eventually made it.
We got front row.
Brooke continued to freak out, which kept me laughing instead of
freaking out myself. Ryan was freaking
out a little too. It was a fun
ride. I was on the far right on the
front row and it is a little trippy since I’m not directly over the track, it
was disconcerting. But it was a really
fun ride. Unfortunately, my headache
kicked in as soon as we went upside down, and I was pretty much ruined for
rides the rest of the day. (I came down
with mastitis a week before and it had wiped me out for a few days even with
the antibiotics. And then I had major
headaches, made 100 times worse whenever I stepped outside. I had been fine, until that ride.)
We had a really fun day.
Justin and Tyson really like Bombara so we tried to get Sadie to go on
it. She refused the first time, but I
bribed her with a slushie and she decided to go the second time. Ryan said she screamed bloody murder the whole
time and it was hilarious. She wasn’t
traumatized or anything, she’s just a screamer (like her dad, lol). She refused to go again.
She went on Odysea with me when I promised to keep our car
low the whole time. She got soaked!
The only other ride I wanted to do was Rocket. Dylan was 50 inches this year which meant he
could do all the rides. So I wanted to
take him on my favorite. Hailee and
Kylee came with us. Dylan almost
chickened out when we got up to it. But
I bribed him with an ice cream. I’m all
about bribery when it comes to forcing my children to face their fears and try
something fun.
Dylan is a screamer too, lol.
We don't know this girl, Sadie just talked to her in line and decided to ride with her. Sadie was alone with me and Kaden for a little while, but she had no problem jumping in lines and riding rides by herself.
Tyson wasn't scared of anything. He went on everything he was tall enough for. At one point I was hanging out with Tys and Sadie and Kaden so I was letting them take turns deciding what they wanted to go on. Sadie wanted the carousel. Tyson kept saying, "I'm not doing the ferris wheel!" I tried and tried to tell him the difference between the carousel and the ferris wheel but he was pretty certain I was going to try to take him up on the huge ferris wheel. Lol. Even when we got to the carousel and he saw it, he was still acting scared. I thought maybe because he does not like animals... It was just too funny. But he quickly realized it was a very mellow ride.
Kaden was a good little trooper the whole time. He got fussy now and then. And he wouldn’t nap for very long ever. He took a few cat naps here and there. But mostly he just watched everyone and
wanted to be held if we weren’t moving the stroller.
He got really tired and I thought he might just put his head
down and doze off in the stroller. No
luck.
I eventually found a little corner out of the way and nursed
him and he fell deep asleep for a good 30-45 minutes. But it was about then when Ryan was saying he
was ready to head home. So we packed
everything up, even squished Cheryl into our little, over-crowded car, and hit
the road. Dylan and Sadie and Kaden all
fell asleep rather quickly. Kylee just
can’t sleep in the car. We didn’t get
home until about 12:30.
