Dylan's indoor team (first session, it was completely different second session). The boy loves soccer. Kylee played as well with her regular team. Layne McCord coached both teams but I had to help coach a couple of the girls' games. They are pretty easy to coach, though.
Kylee and Dylan had to invent something for the Invention Convention for GATE. Dylan created a card game. He drew all the cards himself. They received participation ribbons, which Dylan was a bit offended by, lol. But it was fun to go see all the other inventions.
Kylee is participating in The Battle of the Books with her friend Sadie (and Garrett). They read four books in two months and then have to answer questions about them in a battle with other teams. It's really fun. My friend Aria started it at our school this year for 5th and 6th graders and I've heard other schools are going to use it next year. Kylee and her team eeked by with a perfect score. Sadie saved them on the last question at the very last second.
Grandma Stokes came to visit!! We love when she's here. We went to a movie on a Wednesday night and we were the only ones in the theater. It was awesome!!
We saw Despicable Me 3. There was something going on at the theater and I think they may have had another mostly full theater of this movie as well but they put us in the last theater (and let my kids have a slice of pizza).
These two are sure great lunch dates! I mean, how cute is Kaden? This was right before I had to take her back to the airport :(
I'm not sure what this picture is, but good grief that kid can eat. Maybe he was having a growth spurt. PS- this is how he eats tacos. No tortilla, just chips and cheese on the side.
I got called to scouts, Webelos Leader. One of our first weeks we went to the Fire Station and had a good talk with the fire fighters there. The boys have been fun to teach, even though it is a bit of a busy calling.
I had a really fun night with some old and new friends playing games at my house. Some of these girls I only see once a year or so. But we laughed and laughed and had so much fun. Friends and laughter is good for the soul. This snowman game was fun, but we laughed more with Christmas song pictionary and the name game.
Another movie! The Star had me worried at first, making a bit of a comedy out of the birth of Christ. But it was good! We enjoyed it.
Sledding! Always a highlight of the cold winter. The kids had a blast and I had to drag them away because it was getting dark. And I was freezing. Ryan stayed home with Kaden this day and Dylan brought his friends Brayden C and Riley. At one point I heard him say "this is so much better than playing Minecraft". Mom Win right there.
So cold, but worth it. Getting kids out of the house.
