June 2019

I waited patiently this year for it to be warm enough to go swim in the lake and run on the trails. Once we get there, it's the most wonderful time of the year here in Eastern Idaho.  There's also gorgeous golf weather, bike riding weather, swimming with kids, etc.  It's a short period of time, but we try and squeeze in as much as we can because it's the best.

Ryan and I signed up for Chapman again this year.  We mostly played alone since it's so hard to find a time for both of us, let alone another couple.  It was good!  I figured out a few things about hitting with irons and I'm doing better!

Dylan went to Pine Basin with a big group of friends.  It was a bit chilly and wet this year, but he still had a great time.

Even though Dylan finished his Webelos and Arrow of Light badge, I made him come with me to Day Camp again.  I figured if I had to go, I wanted to hang out with him.  Plus it's mostly fun.  These boys are all in the grade under him so he's not that close to them so it wasn't as fun for him, though he just got to hang out with me.  And he knows how to have a good time with whoever he's with so it was fun.

Kylee only got to go to a couple days of Girls Camp because of her soccer tournament.  But she was happy to go hiking and sleep in a tent!  A friend sent me this from camp.

I needed to get the kids out on a Saturday so we took a quick trip up to Fall  Creek Falls.  I heard we had a waterfall close and I just had to go there.  Next time we will be in the water playing in it.  With plenty of bug spray.  Darn mosquitoes.

When near Swan Valley, you stop for square ice cream.

A few more random pictures.  Kylee and I stopped to get some supplies for homemade popsicles.  Dylan texted to ask if we were getting it and I sent him this picture to show all the goodies I had found.  Trolli was on sale, lol.

I found this note sitting in the kitchen before Kylee's tournament and I thought it was so cute.  "Confidence" is on her list of things to bring.  Love it.

I was in my room doing something and the kids were playing outside.  I heard whining and shrieking and I got super frustrated thinking my kids can't play for two minutes without fighting.  I assumed Dylan was throwing water balloons at the younger ones, which of course they wouldn't like.  So I went out to explain how to play nicely and I saw this.  They were not fighting.  They were having a great time.  The whining I heard must've been the neighbors.  I was pleasantly surprised and snapped a picture and said "carry on."

Kylee and her friends are constantly wanting to bake treats or go to the mall.  I gave them the idea for slime this day.  Kylee spent a few weeks making gallons of slime awhile ago, so she's no stranger to it.  I hate the mess, but I like them doing something other than wasting money at the store.
Flowers are another great thing about June.
This was at the track meet.  Grandma had brought the cousins so Sara could work on unpacking.  It was long (they lied when they said two hours).  But the cousins have fun together.  This was adorable.
I got to drive to Logan to hang out with my friends for the night.  We decided one night wasn't enough and planned another get-together for July.  I love catching up with this group!  We were missing Amy that night.

I never work out on Sundays, so I never get a "Perfect Week".  This badge has eluded me for a long time.  When we were in Hawaii we spent Sunday walking the beach and I got my exercise minutes and move calories.  I thought I would get my perfect week but it turns out I didn't get all of my stand hours on another day during the week (I ALWAYS hit my stand goal.  We must've been driving a lot that day).  So I still missed it.  I didn't know when else I would get my goals on a Sunday.  Well, I decided to have a family soccer game on a Sunday and invited Averi, who brought her whole family.  We had a lot of fun actually.  And I had to play hard because those older kids are fast!  I was so proud I finally hit my perfect week!  I've gotten it one other time since then because we went into the mountains to hike on a Sunday.
Another goal I've had in the back of my mind was to hit two miles on a swim.  I didn't care if it was lake or pool.  This day was a good day and I decided to go for it.  That's the benefit of summertime freedom.  I don't have to be back home at a certain time every morning so I can stay longer if I feel like it.  I felt great this day.  Longest swim to date.  Someday I will do more like Tom in Florida doing almost 4 miles in the intercostal.
