By the end of the season, it was finally not completely freezing so I brought my camera to the kids' games. I'm pretty sure he was called on this one, since the kid fell, but most of the time it's not even a foul. Kids fall a lot. Dylan is pretty solid.
This is Dylan's signature move. We aren't convinced it's the best one, but it works most of the time.Dylan loves defense. He's not beat very often when chasing someone with the ball. He stops a break-away from taking their shot often. His team has been fun to watch.
Kylee's team did not do well in their first two tournaments. This Yellowstone Cup started out a bit rough. They played really well, but the team they played against first played DIRTY! So dirty. Micklee had scratch marks on her neck. This girl was grabbing Brooklyn's arms and pulling them behind her. The ref let it get ugly and so the CGA team kept going. It was so frustrating. We ended up with a couple penalty kicks that we missed. We lost that first game, but won the others so we played the same CGA team for the championship. This time the ref wouldn't allow as much so amazingly they played cleaner. Weird how that works. We won the whole tournament, which was so nice after the other two losses.
Kylee has been doing well as a side defender. She does well on the side, and she has a beautiful throw-in.
I know I said it started to warm up, but the weekend of this tournament there was a cold front and it was COLD this night. But everyone wanted to watch the championship game so we all bundled up and came anyway. It didn't actually rain on us, thank goodness. But coats were necessary.
A few weeks later we played one last tournament in Ogden. This time it was HOT! I was worried about the girls. They have never played in heat, lol. Just kidding, but really it's been so cold the whole season and we show up to our first game and it's 93 degrees and they're playing on turf. It was weird.
But they played really well and won this tournament too! Which was good, because it was against Utah teams, and one Pocatello team. The Boise and Utah teams are often better than us. They have more resources I guess. Or more dedication and time. I think we are just coming together more as a team.
