Kaden enjoys the zoo, so we got another zoo pass and we’ve
gone quite a few times. The older kids don't love it as much, but Kaden and Sadie have a blast. Here are a
couple pictures.
It was the end of school at this time so we (I mean “I”)
made some teacher gifts. The kids did
fill out the little papers to give to them, though. Pretty cute.
Sometimes the kids are cute together. Usually when it’s bedtime and I want them to
go to bed. Then they do cute things like
this that make me let them stay up a little later.
We let the kids camp in the backyard one night. We feel bad that we haven’t gone camping the
last couple years with Kaden being so young.
But they had a blast sleeping in the tent together. Dylan came inside to use the bathroom around
5 and went down to his bed then.
Probably for the best because he would’ve woken up with the sun and been
a monster all day. I mean, they still
didn’t get much sleep which always ends up making them all super cranky. But he could’ve been worse.
The Country Club had a little family carnival day that we went to. We were pressed for time because we also had to be in Pocatello to celebrate Ryan’s grandmother’s 90th birthday. But the carnival was fun. They had sno cones and cotton candy as well as hot dogs, a pet adoption (cute dogs with little babies), balloon animals, amazing face painting!
Sadie went on a field trip to the fire station with her preschool class. Too cute.
She did her dance at Kid’s Fair (I hate that place!! Junk food, junk toys that have kids begging
you to spend money on, businesses handing you all sorts of fliers and trying to
get you to sign up for things. The kids
wanting to have you carry EVERYTHING.
And Sadie got her dance costume all dirty on the floor that they didn’t
clean before they let the little girls roll around on it. Aaaah!
Stress level through the roof.)
Sadie did her little preschool graduation program. We had to rush to get to Dylan’s soccer game
that day so again I was pretty stressed.
Especially since Kaden was all over, and there was a whole table of
cookies outside that Kaden could reach and my other kids were begging for but
we hadn’t even had dinner yet and were rushing off to soccer… I know, I know, but sometimes you can’t
control your own stress hormones.
Sometimes your shoulders tense and your head aches and you just don’t
want to make any decisions or deal with anything. May was like that. Plus, Kaden was supposed to be gluten/sugar
free and some kid (or maybe her grandpa) gave him half a cookie, which I then
had to take away from him when I noticed him eating it so that made him real
mad. Anyway! She was adorable and she loved preschool and
she’s excited for Kindergarten.
Sadie is a great little soccer player!!
Kylee had her piano recital. Again, we were rushing to get to soccer
afterwards {insert crying/laughing emoji} But she did great. It was super quick and painless because Ryan
was holding Kaden in the back, Kylee was the first to perform, and then we
slipped right out of there to head to her soccer game. {Thumbs up emoji} Does Blogger have emojis? They totally should.
Katelynn moved away.
This was on her last week. It’s
pretty sad. More for Katelynn than
Kylee. I mean, Kylee is sad and all but
it’s not life-changing for her. I’m sure
it is for Katelynn and I hope things are going well for her down in Utah! Her hair is crazy long and she gets upset when I talk about cutting it a little. Oiy.
The 4th grade put on this Lewis and Clark play/program. It was pretty cute and I like the songs and Kylee sang the songs for weeks and weeks. But they spent SO MUCH of their class time working on it, I was bugged. Like, what’s the point of sending them to school if they’re just sitting on the stage for hours. Kylee had everybody’s parts memorized by the end of it. Oiy.
Kaden made friends with this cute little girl at one of
Kylee’s soccer games. Her sister was
just subbing on our team so she wasn’t there every time. But Kaden sure liked her and followed her
around quite a bit. Dang, I love
1-year-olds.
Dylan, who can’t be idle for even a minute, decided to pull
the slide up the stairs by himself, and slide in his sleeping bag down the
slide right onto the stairs… I tried to
get a video but I’m not super smart sometimes and my phone was on camera. So I got a pic. He’s such a goofball, but I love his
creativity and fun-loving energy.
I got to go on Dylan’s field trip to hike Cress Creek. It was fun!
Though that many kids makes me nervous.
We had a couple rowdy kids in our group of eight (no comment on whether
Dylan was one of those kids…) When I
first told him I was going, he said, “No, I wanted to go alone and go ahead of
everyone!” Well thanks Buddy. But we explained that it wasn’t like hiking
with the family. He had to stay with his
group and follow the rules. Then he was
okay. I got to chat with some great
ladies along the way so I really enjoyed myself :)
May was our anniversary, so we got to go out together. I’m very blessed to have the husband I have
and the relationship that we have. We
understand each other and respect each other.
We are able to compromise, neither always getting their way, but both of
us getting enough time for our needs.
Mine is races and friend time, his is golfing mostly. He’s wonderful and we celebrated 13 years.
He also trained for a half marathon with me (which was in June, so next post). And let me take some sweaty selfies of us for my fitness group page. Love him :)
It was also Mother’s Day.
The kids showered me with gifts {heart-eye emoji}.
My friends. This picture shows the four of us together for the first
time in a long time. Liza has been so
very sick. She has some sort of
auto-immune thing going on, but there are no answers. She’s in constant pain
and just wasting away. But she was
starting to improve a little when we got together for this picture. I do love my friends. I consider myself very lucky to be included
in these cute girls shenanigans.
I had my camera out so I snapped a few pictures of my flowers. I LOVE Spring flowers!!
I competed in this Fitbit challenge against some neighbors. One friend in particular is super competitive, but I thought I could out run her. So I tried. It got a little out of hand. I ended the 5 day challenge with 145,000 steps. Considering my average steps is somewhere between 10-15,000, that was a LOT. By the end of the seven days, this was my report. Brooke beat me in the challenge by reaching 150,000 by the end of the five days, but let the record show that I ended up with more after the weekend... I was training for both a 50 miler bike ride and a half marathon so I was doing alot.
My average running pace seems to be getting quicker. I don't really try to go faster. Not usually. But sometimes if I feel well during a run I will push a little harder. This was just one screen shot I took after a quicker run, but I've done faster. Maybe the faster ones are one three mile runs though, I can't remember if I've gotten a faster time than that on a longer one. Though I did a half marathon with an average pace of less than 8:50 so it's not like I've never done it before.
I take a lot of workout pictures since I participate in a Facebook beachbody group. I enjoy it. I like the accountability. Here's some Piyo..
I have plenty of sweaty selfies but those are boring (and not very attractive!) Here was one of my longer bike rides. So nice of Kylee to take pictures for me.
And here's Kaden trying to make my treadmill run more exciting! This kid could kill me, but he sure loves to watch that ball fly on the belt. I don't get very far with him awake.
That was all May! Busy times!
