June

Playing in the backyard.  We love summer!!

Kaden loves to be outside!  He tries to escape sometimes.  It's really nice that I can have one of the older kids go hang out with him and make sure he doesn't run away or whatever.

Sadie helped this bee (wasp?) out of the pool and then accidentally stepped on it later when she got out.  It stung her, but didn't leave a stinger in her.  My poor kids have all had run-ins with stingers this year.  Well, not Kaden.

Ryan and Dylan at the Father/Son's Campout.  The girls always get super jealous about that one.
We haven't really gotten out golfing as much as we would like, but we have spent some nights as a family working on our short game and hitting drives.  Ryan plays a putting game with them.  Dylan gets really into it!  He's leaping in the air!  Ha ha.

Another zoo picture.  Sadie asks me to take a picture of her on this lion every time we are there and I'm like, how many do we need??  Dylan does not love the zoo so he stayed behind when Dad took them this time.
Sadie has lost two of her bottom teeth, and they've grown back.  Unfortunately one is behind and one is in front.  It would be nice if they were both behind because then I wouldn't stress as much about her under bite.  Now they just look a little crazy.  Oh well!  Braces in her future.  We'll start saving now.
I had so much fun riding the Little Red race in Logan!  I rode 50 miles, I went alone and rode alone and finished alone.  It was kind of strange, but kind of nice too.  It was a beautiful ride and I loved riding through the areas that I grew up in.  It was supposed to be scorching hot and it did get warm but it wasn't too bad.  I kept sunscreen on and drank a lot.  After 50 miles I was ready to be done.  My shoulders start to throb!  But I would like to someday do more miles.

These ladies had my name on their shirts!  Turns out it was their friend who passed away.

The lake a few more times...

Wiped out after hours at the lake!
Cute kiddos.  Love them!

Ryan did a half marathon with me!  We trained together.  We drove up to Yellowstone at 4 am together.  We ran for like a mile together...  He had told me he would stay with me because my pace is now close to 9 minute miles, but he felt good and I needed to use the porta-potty.  So I didn't see him after mile 2.  He ran a great race.  So did I actually.  If I hadn't made that pit stop I would've certainly made it in less than 2 hours.  Which is good for me!  I got 2:02 and Ryan got 1:48 I think.  It was a beautiful race but trail running is hard!  We couldn't really enjoy the scenery too much since we had to keep our eyes on our feet so we didn't trip on a rock or something.  There were some hills which made it interesting, but I felt pretty good the whole time and so did Ryan.  He says he has no reason to run another.  It's checked off his bucket list.  While he was doing a training run with me once he said, "when is this supposed to start getting fun?"  Ha!  I said, "when you're done!"  Okay, maybe not everybody falls in love with running.  And that's okay.

Shortly after my bike race and that half marathon, I started training for triathlons.  I dusted off my wetsuit and we went to the lake!  It was a bit nerve-racking at first but the more I did it, the easier it got.  I'm kind of addicted.  It's just so peaceful and a great full-body workout. (I look strange in this picture)

Dylan and Sadie did swimming lessons with Elyse again.  They did great!  It was a hot week and I had some sort of stomach bug so that made it long.  But that's okay.  It needed to be done and we got it done early in the summer.

Sadie makes friends wherever she goes.

This turned out to be my friend Shannon's daughter, who I know only from Facebook and my fitness group on there so it was fun to meet her in person and get to know her a little more.

I made an effort to keep this summer more low-key and not sign us up for a bunch of things.  But then June kept getting busier and busier.  This was my week while I was also dealing with an icky stomach that hurt every time I ate anything.  Oiy.

Kylee was invited to play on the Allstar team for U10 in this tournament.  Four games plus a shoot-out where she had to play goalie.  She is a great player and we had fun.

The Country Club had a Grape Van Gogh day where the kids got to do this fun painting.  Ryan took them so I didn't get to see how it all went but they had fun and got these cute pictures.

Kylee made cookies for Ryan on Father's Day.  I don't really bake anymore because I don't eat treats and my kids get so many treats from so many other places that it's hard to want to do more.  But on special occasions it is fun.  I only helped Kylee a little with these.

I finally got Snap Chat because my friend introduced me to the filters and it is pretty fun.  I don't share anything on the app, but I like the filters for sure.  Kaden loves it!  Especially the kitty and doggy.

Audrey invited Kylee golfing one evening.  I really wish we could get out more.  Hopefully Kaden will be a little easier next year (though a 2-year-old might not be any easier than a 1-year-old)

For a little while there I was convincing the kids to get out and get some exercise.  We dragged the goal and the balls and Kaden in the stroller all the way to the park this day and had some fun until everyone got too hot and thirsty and whiny.  They do love soccer though!

Sadie played T-ball with some friends again.  It's not my favorite sport, and Sadie was pretty bored most of the time.  I think we will put more energy into soccer, but it's hard to turn it down when someone else invites you to play and they do all the work putting the team together and coaching.  Kristie did a great job.

Grandma got to come watch one of her games during her visit.  Grandma also got to spend some good time with Kaden.

And this picture shows Dylan on his birthday enjoying chocolate chip waffles.  I had to take a picture because this stuff doesn't happen too often.  Although chocolate chips have been making an appearance in our breakfast more often lately because I get so sick of trying to beg kids to eat!  But it's not the best solution.
