October 2016

We had some fun with SnapChat filters.  And just some pictures of me with my kids.  I meant to post some of them on Instagram but never got around to it.  I like to occasionally take pictures of myself with the kids.  You know, in case I die or something!  It's easier to do selfies with the phone than get out the big camera.

Kaden still faces the rear in the car.  His little legs are getting a little cramped but it's worth it to not have his neck irreparably damaged in a car accident!  He doesn't mind at all.  He's tall enough he can see out the window plenty.
Dylan has some pretty great stories come home from school sometimes.  Not sure why they are always about dying, though...

This is one week of my schedule.  Soccer season makes everything so busy!  But I love it!  I mean, I love soccer.  I don't love running around like a crazy person who hasn't eaten since breakfast.
Sadie was chosen as a "popcorn reader" by the librarians at school (nominated by her teacher) because her reading skills really "popped".  She got her name on the wall (which stayed there all year) along with her favorite book (Pinkalicious, added to the wall after I had taken this picture.) And she got to have a little popcorn party at the library.  This was great because Kylee and Dylan are probably the highest readers in their class too, but they haven't improved, they've just been there.  So we got to celebrate Sadie a little so that was fun.  She has really picked up reading and is doing so well.
Dylan has a huge scout group and some great leaders!
Kylee has fun at Activity Days too.
They had crazy hair day at school.  I swear they do this multiple times a year now.  Dylan opted out.  Kylee let me do a unicorn horn- so fun :)  I was going to do a horn on Sadie but her hair is so slippery / stubborn it wasn't working.  So we did glitter gel instead.

Ryan donated to this Underground Railroad cause for child trafficking and so we got free tickets to the jump rope show fundraiser they did.  Liza's daughter Nyah was in it.  It was fun!  I only brought the girls because they wanted to come.  And we stayed for some of the speakers but it got late and the topic got heavy...

I ran into these beauties at Broulim's.  I see a lot of people there, but the number of times I have ran into Ingrid is beyond coincidence.  She's placed there to brighten my day and give me a big hug and beautiful smile!
Liza's hair is growing back.  She wore the bandana for awhile because the re-growth was kind of crazy looking.  She eventually got some extensions that helped.  She is healing and I'm so so so grateful.  Here's a look at her progress.  She posted this at the end of September.  She was down to like 90 lbs or something crazy.  Lost half of her hair, her eyebrows, etc.  She was so close to dying.
She still has a long road to full recovery but we have faith she will get there.  Miracles have happened.  If I haven't posted anything about this before, I'll just say she has Red Skin Syndrome from steroid withdrawal.  She was on the steroids because her body was rejecting her silicone implants.  She also had silicone poisoning.  She wasted away from like Nov-Apr when she finally got her implants removed (under local anesthesia because she was not stable enough to go under.  She didn't recover right away, but started taking Nuskin supplemental nutrition stuff and her body slowly started to accept it and from there she has improved.)

Ok, soccer!  I had all the kids in BYSL and they don't do pictures so I don't have a lot.  It was a pretty crappy September as far as weather goes.  COLD!  Rainy.  No sun.  I was sorely disappointed.  As the season went on, it started getting darker.  And colder.  I was in full winter gear watching the games.  I still enjoyed it.  But Ryan stayed home a lot of the time with Kaden so that made it easier to enjoy.  Dylan's team didn't win too many games.  But he played really hard and was one of their best players.  This one game in particular they were losing by quite a bit, it was so dark we could hardly see the ball anymore, and it was cold.  I was like, "can we just call it??"  Dylan said he missed his other team because they won all the time.

Kylee had a fun team.  They won a lot but lost a few.  Her coaches were really good.  She enjoyed it.  We are hoping these girls can continue to play together for awhile.
