Sadie's Birthday #7

Sadie's birthday was on a Friday.  We got ready for school quickly so she could open her presents!

She got a few small things, and a phone!  Not with service, just wifi.  But still.  And this cute cupcake case.  She also got her ears pierced (which we did the next day on Saturday at the Spider's Web Tattoo shop.  It was an interesting environment to bring children to- Kylee and Sadie both came- but they did a good job and I'm convinced that the needle all the way through is much better than the gun that shoves the earring in.  And it was only $25 and my friends were saying Claire's charged like $70? I didn't call to find out, just headed to the tattoo parlor.  Sadie didn't love it.  She held it together until we left the shop but then cried for awhile.  But then she got over it and she likes them.)

She asked if she could bring donut holes for her class treat.  She was pretty sure she needed the holes, not just the donuts.  So Kaden and I showed up to see her class sing Happy Birthday and Sadie got the "first bite" which is a cool way to get the kids to be patient- the birthday child passes out the treats but the other kids are supposed to all wait until they finish and sit back down to take the first bite before the rest of them get to eat it.  Kaden whined and whined even after I gave him one.  He's sweet but he sure knows how to whine sometimes!

Sadie requested cinnamon rolls instead of cupcakes.  I was good with that!  I mean, cupcakes are quicker and easier to make, but so boring... Plus, I didn't make her a nice cake because I knew we would be having cake for Kaden's birthday the following week so I was happy to give her something special that wasn't a cake.  Not as pretty as cupcakes, but yummy!
We had a really fun party at The Edge Climbing Gym!  The girls burned a lot of energy and had fun.  It's a really fun activity, and a killer upper body workout.

We had the party room to eat pizza and open presents.

I would say the party was a success!

The next day, after we did ear-piercing and some shopping to spend birthday money, we let Sadie choose a place to go out for dinner.  She chose Texas Roadhouse so she could get ribs.  We love Texas Roadhouse, but the kids always fill up on peanuts, rolls and soda before their food even comes.  So they have leftovers for a day or two following.

Sadie is such a fun, sweet girl.  She has some sass, but she's so friendly and fun-loving.  We had fun celebrating her!
