I don't have many pictures from September and I think it's because we were just in survival mode! It's a busy month and a big adjustment from the carefree days of summer to school all day and sports and music after. So I'm doing two months together now.
These I got from Ryan. The bunny getting plenty of love. And playing in the water at Tautphaus park with Marissa Stitler.
He took Sadie to a USU game. A nice little date for them.
I did get a few of cute Kaden though. I'm going to miss this sweet age. He was so easy to potty train, and he's so easy going most of the time.
Kaden watched Dylan's pinewood derby (to be posted soon) and then we went to Kids Town and he got to have fun with his own cars and racetrack! Along with a lot of other fun stuff, but I guess I only got videos and no pictures.
He likes to make me build things like this and then only plays for five minutes and wants to knock them down. This marble run is a super fun game though.
Yes, we are busy. But even though most of that is because of soccer, I still love soccer season. I love watching my kids play soccer and I get excited for every game.
Kylee's team killed it this year. Last year they were the younger team. This year they were the older. It's amazing how that one year can make a difference. That, and they've been playing together for over a year now so I guess they're improving. They beat a few teams by 10 points or so. They played Sugar City one day and beat them like 6-0. Then later that week we played them again and it was a really close game and we were tied 2-2 until the last few minutes and they scored so they beat us! The only team that beat us. They must've been missing some key players the first time we played them or something. We beat a Rexburg team that was previously undefeated as well. It's so fun to watch her team! Kylee rocks defense but her coach has been having her play mid more often. And they move her wherever. I call her the floater. She's competent at every position. She's pretty awesome at defense and mid. She does good at forward, but her strikes are not that great. She has scored a handful of goals, but there's others that score much more than her. They occasionally put her in as goalie, which I don't love. She doesn't love it either. We have an awesome goalie, Maya. But when we are up by four goals, they like to pull her out to play on the field and put someone else in for her. Anyway, Kylee is an awesome player and I'm okay with her being a bit of a floater. Even though I had gotten used to her being a defender most often and wasn't worried about her scoring. It's fun to see them get up there and have a shot at scoring.
(This was Dylan showing "3" for how many goals he scored in the last game.) Dylan's team was good, but they weren't undefeated. He had a lot of fun playing with Austin Mccord and I was glad that Layne Mccord was willing to take him on his team and coach him. I've felt like he needs some consistency and a coach that will help him. He keeps getting put on these teams with most of the players having no experience. This team was better. We won more than we lost for sure. And Layne liked to put Dylan against Austin at practice because they are both fast and aggressive and competitive. Dylan is still a great defender, but he plays up a lot too. It's fun to watch him play with a team that knows what they're doing for the most part.
Sadie had a few friends on her team this season. She's fun to watch. She's little but she's focused and competitive. I love it! It's a little harder to watch this younger team when I get to watch the older kids play. But I love watching Sadie try hard and get into it.
These are the report cards from the soccer camp Kylee and Dylan did over the summer. I forgot to post them back then. I loved all the comments they wrote down and the feedback. It was a really good camp! Those British players know their stuff, I guess.
My father died in July. In September my cousin was hit by a 15 year old kid on the street from Newton to Smithfield, the one I drove every day of my high school life. She was killed instantly and her two girls were with her but were strapped in safely and are fine, other than they have to live without their mom now. My cousin Denise, their grandmother, is raising them now. It was really tragic. The funeral was on a Wednesday and they asked for only close friends and family so I decided not to make the drive. Then a month later, my uncle Larry passed away. These are all from the Goodsell side of the family. Three deaths in four months. Too much. This time I did make the drive down. The funeral was in Woods Cross and the burial was in Newton. My dad's headstone just got put up this past week so I was able to see it. I love how it turned out. It's strange though. Thinking of him being gone is one thing. It's all surreal and in my head. But to see the headstone makes it harshly real. I have my moments, but I'm at peace. I'm hoping that it doesn't ever get to the point where I don't feel these feelings. That will just be sad.
Lyndy and her kids came to visit. We had wanted to go to a haunted forest or something Halloweeny, but EVERY time she comes to town, the weather is horrible. Even if she comes in the summer. So we didn't want to be outside. We went to Battle Zone and let the kids burn off some energy instead. They had fun!
