How does a ragtag volunteer army in need of a shower somehow defeat a global superpower? How do we emerge victorious from the quagmire? Leave the battlefield waving Betsy Ross‘s flag higher?

We had God on our side. That’s how. Pride in my country has always been linked to my faith in God for me. Our country is not perfect, but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless.

I get choked up whenever I hear the story about the Star Spangled Banner. That flag is important! I hear that other countries do not have the same feelings about their own flag. But we worked hard for that!! God bless America!

And if you haven’t watched Hamilton yet, you gotta. Unless you don’t like hip-hop, musicals, or history. Then it’s probably not your style.
That ^^ is what I posted on social media around the 4th of July.
Covid cancelled the parade and the big firework show on the 4th. Sad, yes. But that didn't really change our plans much. We still got together with family and had a good time. We still saw fireworks, and it was pretty awesome.
We played some of our traditional backyard games. 
We are still trying to figure out the best way to maximize the fun, lol.
They found a snake and Kylee wanted to take it home. Everyone was pretty entertained.
We did some sparklers and fireworks in my backyard. And we watched some fireworks from our backyard. Last year was a bit scary so we decided not to go to the street to watch them. But the view from the backyard was pretty great.
Without the big firework show, people all over the area were lighting big fireworks. They were going off in multiple places in our neighborhood. We took the golf cart down the street where there's a better view of the valley and we could see them going off all over the county. It was really kind of cool to see it. We enjoyed it.
