Paddleboaring at String Lake is amazing! But I have a hard time wanting to drive all the way over there just to paddle for a little bit. So my idea was to do an easy hike, something that I also didn't want to drive all the way over for by itself. So we did Phelps Lake hike first and then drove over to String Lake
There's a jumping rock along the trail and I REALLY wanted to jump but it wasn't quite that warm, and I didn't really want to be wet. Some day.
It ended up being about 7 miles around the lake.
Next over to String Lake. The weather was a little iffy. We got on the water but we knew we didn't have a ton of time.
We packed up and left just in time. The sky looked pretty angry when we were driving out.
We heard about Sheep Lake from a friend, not something easily found on Alltrails. But we really liked it! We didn't see anyone else on the way up and only a couple other groups on the way down. And the lake was awesome! Also cool was the Eagles that were hanging out. They had their pick of all the fish in the lake! It was about 12 miles and another good training hike for the Grand Canyon.
