Let's Sum Up October

I had a last-minute movie night with my friends.  Ryan was sweet to keep the baby and let me get out.  Liza brought her pet squirrel.  She’s just a little nuts.

We were sitting on the couch/floor all together and Ingrid's son walked in and said "why are you all sitting on the same couch?"  There was another chair, but we were all cuddled up together.  We all busted up laughing because it didn't seem strange to us at all.  We are those kind of friends.

Kaden is turning into quite the trouble-maker.  He thinks my smoothies are just for him and demands that I share with him every morning.  The worst part is that even though I’m careful, he still ends up with chocolate on his mouth.  And he’s really good at wiping it on my shoulder or dripping it onto his clothes.

Before he could even walk, he was trying to get outside.  The door was locked, but I have no doubts he will be able to escape that door sooner than later if it’s left unlocked.

His new favorite thing to do is terrorize the kitchen.  While I’m cooking, I’m dodging messes from him emptying out lazy-susan’s and drawers.  This one is his favorite.

He does the same thing in the bathroom.  He loves to pull bandaids and Q-tips out of their boxes.

Sadie made a cute marshmallow ghost at school that she was pretty excited about.  But she left it sitting on the fireplace.  I should’ve known something was up when Kaden was quiet and in one spot for more than a minute.  He was enjoying quite the treat!  Sadie was very upset.  You’d think the kids would learn not to leave their stuff sitting around.  I had to let her make a new one at home.
I always get Halloween crafts on sale at Michael’s.  The kids were having fun with them and asked me to take a picture of them.

And here are our pumpkins I forgot to post with the Halloween stuff.  Dylan tried to carve a witch from a pattern but messed up so he decided to just make a face.

Kylee started with a pattern but got bored after seeing how quickly Dylan was done with his face.  So she got the words done and then made a face.

Sadie really wanted me to do this kitty for her.

I was told that I absolutely HAD to take my kids to see Inside Out.  Actually, they had been asking ever since it first came out, but do you know how expensive it is to take three kids and myself to the movies?  We don’t make it to Edwards very often.  But my mother-in-law told me it was at Paramount and that I should take them.  Ryan had a football game to watch at home so I left Kaden with him, which was nice because I was able to relax and enjoy the show.

My kids were certain they were the ONLY people in the world who had not seen it.  And then Grandma took them again a week later.  Lucky them.

The Fall Frolic is a big fundraiser for the school every year.  The kids look forward to it because they get candy and prizes.  There are baskets raffled off from every class.  They have fun.  I try to be patient.  But this year we had to hurry because Kylee had a soccer game so we didn’t have much time to waste.  Last year they had a haunted house set up, but the line to go through it was so long we thought we would come back later, and then they closed it so we never made it.  This year they had an Indiana Jones themed room.  I didn’t realize there were REAL critters!  It was really cool.

Right when I walked in I saw this spider.  It was just chilling on this fake web with a bunch of fake little spiders.  And nobody was monitoring it or anything.  I looked at it for a second and told Dylan that I think it’s real.  I got really close and it didn’t move, and with nobody monitoring it I thought maybe I was wrong.  But I wasn’t brave enough to touch it because I still thought it was probably real.

We looked at the snakes, especially this giant one!

Then I saw the spider moving.  I knew it was real!  The guy in charge of the critters picked it up and let people hold it.  Kylee wasn’t scared at all.

I don’t mind the snakes much, but the spider creeps me out a bit.  I held them when I was younger, but I think I’ve seen the movie Arachnaphobia too many times.

This was fun and totally made the night worth it.  We were only a little late for her game and I had to drag my kids away.

Sadie went on a field trip to the airport with her preschool class.  I didn’t go since Kaden naps during that time and I wouldn’t be much help.  But Brooke took a few pictures for me.

I had a Norwex party (if you don’t know Norwex, you’re missing out!  I’m obsessed!) and I made this little veggie pumpkin as part of the snacks.  I also made some cream cheese filled pumpkin snickerdoodles.  Yum!

The party was fun and I ended up with a TON of free products.  But I have to host another party because part of the deal is that you have to have a party booking from your original party in order to qualify for most of the free stuff.  So I booked off myself.  I’m having an online party on Dec. 3rd.
