Other than our Arizona trip, there wasn't a whole lot going on in February, at least not from the pictures I took.
The colors of the sky at dusk were amazing this night.
Family night at Blast Off was really fun! That place isn't exactly cheap, but it is fun! The kids climbed the rock wall, and we played laser tag a couple times against some 10-12 y/o boys. It was really fun. Dylan decided he wanted to do that for his birthday party this year.
Sadie played laser tag once, but didn't like it as much. It's a little unnerving being chased and shot at in a maze in the dark. But she had fun with Kaden in the pits!
Valentines this year. Kylee gave finger lights.
Sadie really wanted to give suckers so we did this picture.
Dylan gave little cars.
It took me a long time to convince Kylee to try skiing/snowboarding. When I first asked she wasn't interested. I learned later that was because she thought I intended to send her on the bus with the other kids alone to figure it out by herself. I mean, I signed her up for lessons, but she didn't want to try and figure out where to go, etc. So we didn't go to the first Woodland Hills night. Then I convinced her to go to the second one with me, and I drove her. I signed her up for lessons and I brought my snowboard. She did wonderful! And she LOVED it!!! I hadn't been boarding in many years. So I was slightly nervous about taking off on an unknown hill in the dark... But I had fun hanging out with Kylee. And she really picked it up fast. She was dying to go again and started asking for a snowboard for her birthday. Unfortunately the third WH night was while we were in Arizona so that was the only time we were able to get the school discount. It was also fun having so many kids we knew there with us.
Ryan has a friend from Japan that he knew from highschool. His name is Kaz and he was a foreign exchange student. They played golf together. Kaz came to visit his old host family and met up with Ryan. He brought a bunch of gifts! He called them Valentine's gifts. It was very sweet. It's really fun having foreign stuff! The Hello Kitty box was chocolates with a candy filling. There were tissues and the animal pack is like wet-wipes.
These colored pencils have erasers that work with friction instead of whatever the other ones are. So the erasers don't shrink. Unfortunately the lead breaks so the kids sharpened them way down the first time they were using them.
Green Tea KitKat. Interesting!
Pastries! Kaz's company makes "bean paste" that is used in these types of things. Some of them were interesting, some were yummy.
Ramen noodles!
Sadie asked me to read her a book before bed. I was really tired and trying to hurry. Kaden was tired too. When I'm on the floor, Kaden likes to take advantage. Ryan thought it was funny that I was still reading while Kaden was loving on me. Good times.
