Sadie Turns 6

We had a fun birthday with Sadie!  Her birthday was on a Thursday, so we let her choose where to go out for dinner and she chose Leo's Place.  But first we had to open presents!  She also picked out her own balloons from Zurchers.  The girl loves unicorns and rainbows.  And candy!  We did dinner and ice cream (which Kaden enjoyed a little too much) on her birthday and my mom flew in that night.  The next night we took her two Brynlee friends out to Jamba and the movie Secret Life of Pets.  Kylee and Grandma were invited too.  Dylan and Kaden had to stay behind with Daddy.

And finally that weekend we had the cousins over to celebrate and have cake with us.  Sadie was really excited about her candyland cake!

Everyone in the primary always tells me how they love how Sadie sings.  They say she is the only one in Jr Primary who knows all the songs and sings them loudly!  Sadie has been doing wonderful in Kindergarten.  She's a bit of a carefree spirit with no concept of time.  So I wasn't really sure how she would do in school.  She's certainly smart, but also very social.  But she flew through the reading program and is reading really well now.  She's also very social, but not during class according to her teacher.  She talks about how she has "so many friends"  and "Jack really likes me."  Or "Brelyn really likes me".  And she says she just plays with everyone at recess and doesn't have any particular bestie.  She's a fun girl and I can't wait to see who she grows into as a young woman.  All my children have different personalities and it's so fun.  I picture Sadie as this adorable, fun girl that everyone wants to be friends with.  And I hope that she will stay sweet and not get the "princess" attitude, even though she already has that a little bit at home.  We are working on her being more independent and taking on more chores.  She is so great with Kaden and he really enjoys playing with her every morning when they are the only kids home.
