November 2020

Kylee got her driver's permit!  She whipped through the online driver's ed course and then had to wait awhile to get her scheduled drives with an instructor (who happened to be her Honors teacher from 8th grade).

I'll be honest, it was a bit nerve-wracking sitting in the passenger seat with her driving.  But she did great.  6 more months and she will have her license!

Kylee and Dylan spent a lot of time mowing lawns this.  They have gotten quite good at it.  And they have earned a lot of money.

We FINALLY convinced Dylan to try contacts.  It took awhile for him to get it, but he was persistent.  Then he couldn't get it off his eyeball later that night and we had a small crisis, but he got it.  Then he dropped one on the floor and stepped on it and tore it and we had to go get more from the doctor.  A cool thing is his eyes both have the same prescription so he doesn't have to keep track of that. The doctor gave us an extra one just in case while we ordered some more.  He got the hang of it quickly in the mornings.  He has still lost or tore more than I would like, but he is doing better.

Climbing fun at the Edge!  Everyone has a great time there.  We only ever go on Family day so we can get a discount cause it is pricey!

Kaden played indoor soccer with his cousin.  The scheduling gets a bit tricky with Sadie's basketball on Saturdays too, but it mostly worked out, with the help of Sara and Jason.

Covid cancelled our Thanksgiving get together.  Carol had dinner with her daughter, but her daughter is high risk so we couldn't come spread germs there.  Instead, we had a quiet dinner at home with just our family.  It was quite nice.  I enjoy the big family get togethers too, but it was a nice break to spend time with just our family.  I didn't do any shopping either, just a little online.  I used the recipe of the smoked turkey Carol's daughter usually makes and it was yummy!  But it was tricky, lol.

2020 Family Pics

I had my friend Liz take some pictures for us.  She found a spot up in the mountains near Palisade Dam.  She took our pictures but her lens was having problems so even though they are cute pictures, they weren't clear enough for us to print them out big for our wall.  I still used them for Christmas cards.

I really liked the scenery and I was bummed that they didn't turn out clear.  So I made my family repeat it with my camera.  They were better quality but there were other problems.  Something about the length of my lens made us too small in the picture.  And the colors had started to turn so there were yellows and reds that didn't go well with my outfit choices.  I messed with editing for awhile and ended up doing nothing with them.  Here are mine.

Kaden's 6th Birthday

Kaden decided to have a party at Ijump for his birthday.  It was really nice because they were the only ones there for a lot of the time.

Sadie, Hayden Simpson, Eden Crofts, Kaden, Kyle Packard, Jason Sheets, Aubrey Coon, Packer Nestler, Colton Clark, Porter Summers

He chose an ice cream cake and helped pick out the colors and design.  He was happy!

Sadie's 10th Birthday

Sadie had a little birthday celebration earlier when she took Lydia to Lagoon.  So there was no big celebration in November, but we still tried to make her birthday special.  She got ready for school super fast so she could open presents before she left.

I offered to pick her up from school and take her to lunch but she said no thank you.  Rude, huh?  She said she didn't want to miss out on lunch with her friends.  Soooo I offered to bring pizza to her and her friends at school.  This was a hit.  They enjoyed it and they were super cute.  I brought raspberries too, because that's what I do.

I was a big fan of her choice of "cake".  Fruit Trifle!  Yum!

I think she had a good birthday.
