Temple Square

The first thing we did for Christmas break was head to Salt Lake to see the temple lights and meet up with my brother and his family.  We have been trying to go see the lights for years.  December just gets so busy, and the weather does not often cooperate. (Snow is fun to play in, but deadly to drive in).  We decided to spend the whole day there and enjoy all of temple square.  It was fun!
The family history library was really fun.  Kylee got to do this when she came with the Young Women last summer.

We went to the Church History Museum, which was fun and I could've spent a lot more time there, but Kaden was more interested in finding the cousins so he could get the present they had for him.  We went to the North Visitors Center and found the cousins, and the Christus.

We went to the South Visitor's Center and learned about the building of the temple.  Kylee is showing her medallion because it's this view of the SL temple.
We went to the Joseph Smith Memorial building, up to a high floor trying to get into one of the restaurants and they were booked.  But we enjoyed the view!

We found food at the little cafe on the ground floor and got in early right before the huge crowd.  Then we went and watched a couple of the short movies they were playing in the theater there, The Nativity and Mr Kruger's Christmas.  By the time we finished it was dark and so the lights were on!  So beautiful!  But such a zoo!  Dylan almost got lost a couple times, not paying attention.  I had a tight grip on Kaden.  I'm sure it's always busy, but probably more so being the last weekend before Christmas.
