It's fun celebrating birthdays with Kylee and my mom. Grandma usually makes a trip out here sometime in April to celebrate.
Her cake of choice this year was peanut butter lasagna. Yum!
The kids only get parties every other year, and last year she had one. So this year she arranged to do one-on-one things with some friends. Her and Kylie Paskett spent a couple hours at the mall with some spending money (such teenagers). Then had cake. I told her I would take her and Averi to Gravity Factory on the weekend, but first we had to get through a very cold soccer game in the morning (literally 34 degrees) and a cold, 5 hour track meet... It was brutal. Track is brutal. Funny thing is that we were bundled in hats and coats and gloves and blankets and I didn't think once about the sun being out (because mostly it wasn't) but the kids ended up sunburned! 5 hours in partly cloudy 40 degrees still gives you sunburns I guess. Who knew.
It may have been worth it, though. Gravity Factory is really fun! I brought Sadie along to be my buddy. She had to endure the track meet too. But it paid off. We had a lot of fun!
When Grandma got into town, we had to have our own cakes. She wanted the peanut butter lasagna because it sounded good. I had just had that and was in the mood for mousse. So we had two half cakes.
Ryan and Dylan picked out some flowers for me for my birthday!
And one of the best things about my birthday is that it is gardening season. I got a freshly tilled garden as one of my gifts, and I got to work with the veggies. So fun.
