Kylee likes running 5Ks, and so do my mom and Tom. So we signed up for a race while we were there. It was a little cheaper to register as a team, so the four of us signed up as a team. It was rainy and cool and we had fun. I had hoped to beat my fastest time that I got a couple years ago in Florida, but I didn't. Kylee said she was going to stay with me, but when I told her I planned on running 7:30-7:45 minute miles she said she couldn't do that but would stay with me as long as she could. And she did! At one point after mile two she said she needed to walk. I figured I wouldn't see her again until the finish line, but after a few minutes she caught back up to me and stayed with me again! At that point I knew she was going to sprint ahead of me at the finish line and beat me. Which she did. Gone are the days when I can beat her I guess. But how awesome is she! She finished in 24:10 and I was 24:12. There weren't very many women in front of us either, I think we figured out we placed 4th and 5th overall female. Mom and Tom came in just a few minutes after us. Kylee, Mom and I all placed first in our age groups. I think Tom placed 1st or 2nd. It was kind of fun since this race didn't give out finisher medals so we all ended up with placement medals! But the funny thing is they handed out team trophies and our team ended up taking third place! How awesome! It was a good race. Even if we had to wait around in the rain for an hour to get our medals.
My mom talks to me about running Tropical Trail, which is a road next to the river on the island (across the causeways). It's about 10 miles and there's a group that runs it every weekend and they have water out there and stuff. I always think it sounds so awesome. So she brought me along and we ran it while I was there. It was beautiful! Running in Florida is so fun, especially when it's not hot! We were chilled, I had to borrow her long sleeve shirt. 50 degrees in humid Florida feels a lot different that 50 degrees in Idaho. My mom heard that the manatees were hanging out in this little canal so we came to see them. There were so many!! You can't see much other than their backs in the pictures, but they were fun to watch.
We then walked around this gorgeous park and enjoyed the nice evening.
We started watching Survivor a few seasons ago, and then my mom told me that her friend Janet was going to be on season 39 so we were all excited to watch it. I talked to my mom about it every week and Janet was awesome and everybody loved her. So my kids were big fans (except Kylee never really got into Survivor with the rest of us). My mom thought she could plan a slightly-stalkish encounter with her at a friend's party but that didn't really work out. But no worries because she was doing an appearance at Krispy Kreme. Even better! Because my family loves donuts too. This was during the time Kylee and I were running our 5K so Ryan just took the other kids. How cool! Kaden was like, "Janet is in real life!"
My mom's house and our rented van and taking Sugar for a walk.

We were so late getting in to Salt Lake... And we were on Florida time so it felt even later.

We had a rude awakening when we got back to Utah/Idaho. We decided not to drive home in the middle of the night in the snow, so we stayed in a hotel that night. This was our car in the morning. Kaden got snow on him when he opened the door and he gave me this face. I thought it was a perfect depiction of how we all felt about it.
