April 2022

April is busy! Like, really.  But a lot of fun too.  Here's an example of one of the busier weeks.

Jax enjoys the warmer weather as much as the rest of us.
Dylan eats like a teenage boy.  His taco was GIANT! Haha

Sadie got braces, this was her before pic.  I guess we will pull this up again in a couple years.

Kaden got to participate in the pinewood derby! Even though scouts is no longer part of the church, the activity day kids all got together and did one, girls and boys both.  I was too busy to go (ugh) but Ryan went with him and they had fun.  Kaden is competitive.

Kylee had a birthday!  16 seems like a big one, but she didn't want a party.  We tossed around the idea of a quick trip to NYC to watch a couple Broadway shows (I'm a bit obsessed with Six the musical right now) but we found out NYC requires vaccination for everything, but especially Broadway. Then we thought about spending the night in SLC with some friends but we literally had no time for an overnight.  So we just went down for the day.  But we had a lot of fun.  We brought Kylie Paskett and Caprice.  We stopped at the mall in Farmington and spent quite a bit of time there.  Then we made it to City Creek.  We put our name down for Cheesecake Factory and then kept shopping.  We ended up waiting like an hour and a half longer than expected.  There were prom kids coming and going all night.  But it was yummy and we all got cheesecake so everyone was happy.  Kylee chose Cocoa Bean Cupcakes for her birthday cake.

Katy took some pictures of our dancers and these are what she sent us of Kylee.

Kylee and I tried a trick they saw online.  Her legs were a bit too long, but mine are strong at least.  We made it work for a minute.

I had a birthday too.  A big one too.  I went to dinner with some friends one night.  And lunch and climbing with some other friends another day.  But the real celebration was going to Africa later with my high school friends!

Girls camp fundraiser dinner and cake auction.  I wasn't completely in charge of this (thankfully Jen took lead and did great with it).  But we had to make cakes for both girls.  Or I should say I had to make cakes.  The girls were too busy to really help.  But they turned out well!  And the fundraiser was really successful.

I volunteered to chaperone a field trip with some eighth graders.  As if my month wasn't busy enough, but I had that day free.  We went to a classroom at the ISU extension campus and listened to some engineers talk about why math is cool and important.  I thought it was cool, but it was a little long for the kids.

Then we went to a rest stop with lava rock trails to eat lunch.  And then headed to the museum for the Genghis Khan exhibit because they had been studying that in history.  It was fun hanging out with Dylan even though he didn't want to hang out with me.  Kids are funny.

Dylan was also doing track.  He got fancy spike shoes, and he did really well on long jump.  But there were a lot of people faster than him on the 100 this year.
