April 2023

It was a cold Spring.  The snow wouldn't leave.  You can sit around and complain, or you can bundle up and get on with life. There was plenty of soccer (I'll do another post). Also I went snowboarding with my friends.  We always have a great time.

Easter Egg hunt at the Country Club was a little cold (though you wouldn't know by Sadie's refusal to wear a jacket...)  Sadie is a bit old for it but she is nice enough to come with Kaden.

I got to go with my friends for sushi on my birthday.  I also got BeReal this month because Kylee got it so I figured I better be on it too.  It's been fun learning (and getting made fun of) how to use it.  I explained it to Cheryl at lunch and she gave us all a good laugh later at Hailee's farewell when she said, "let's do the 'are you for real'"  Then she insisted I had taught her that.  Teenagers are fun.

I was a bit bummed on my birthday because Dylan and I had a fight about him doing something he didn't want to do... Not atypical but bad timing on the night before my birthday.  And the younger kids were their normal selves (kids are pretty selfish and take moms for granted, just how it is) but again, on my birthday I felt a bit frustrated.  Anyway, someone told Kylee so she did this post which she probably would've done a post but she seemed a little extra gushy.  She's a sweetheart and it did make me feel good.

Hailee decided to serve a mission and she was called to Dominican Republic!  We are all so excited for her.  We got to attend the temple with her as she received her endowments.  This was the first event Ken was able to be a part of and not left outside the temple, so that was really special for all of us!

The cousins (the ones young enough to be willing) all sang at her farewell.  They are cute!

Her farewell was late enough in the month that the sun made an appearance and it ended up being a beautiful day!  We will miss Hailee but we are so excited for her too.
