Paddleboarding String Lake

I've wanted to do this for ages and we finally pinned down a day that my friends were free.  We hike all the time and some of my friends are dealing with injuries or they're just busy and hiking is tiring so this little excursion was perfect.  We got perfect weather too.

A bonus is we saw someone pulled over looking into the distance, which usually means they have spotted an animal.  Sometimes it's just a moose or elk.  But we saw a bear so we pulled over.  It turned out to be 399 most likely.  She's the most well-known bear in the country, maybe the world.  This mama has had lots of babies throughout the years and she is old now! She still has a cub with her right now.

Magnificent mountains never get old!

String Lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.  And being on the water in the sun with the mountains, it was perfection.

At the end of String Lake there's a path you can "portage" over to Leigh Lake.  Leigh Lake is much bigger and deeper and a lot of people camp over there and carry all their supplies in their canoe.  We carried our boards, and it was a little further than is comfortable but it was okay.
