Today

So I'm injured.  Which is why I am spending so much time on the computer.  I'm antsy.  I would prefer to be running or doing any sort of activity.  But somehow I strained a muscle which probably led to tendonitis.  My hipflexor muscle is not happy.  It started getting sore a few weeks ago, but I get sore muscles all the time so I didn't think much of it.  I kept running and biking and squatting and jumping, etc, etc.  But it got worse and worse.  To the point where it hurts to walk.  I am limping, especially when I'm carrying extra weight, like Kaden.  Which means most of the time it hurts and I'm limping.  And it's cold outside so I want to walk quickly, but that hurts worse.  It's bad.  I can't even jog a few steps if I'm trying to hurry from one spot to another.  It's been two weeks or longer since I've done any running or extra walking.  And I don't see the end anytime soon.  Ryan knows how I feel kind of because he's had a sore shoulder for months now.  Ever since we went wakeboarding in September.  Does this mean we are getting old?  That we are falling apart?  Not fun.  I've been advised to rest.  So I'm resting as best I can.  And trying my best to get caught up on the overwhelming amount of work I need to do on the computer right now.

But the good news is I am SO close to being completely caught up on the blog, and with a couple photoshoots AND I’m 99% done with Christmas shopping.  That was my goal, to finish shopping by this weekend.  I already have my Christmas cards.  I have teacher gifts, little gifts for my kids to give to a few friends, even most the stocking stuffers.  I do not want to stress about finding time to go shopping!

I went to Toys R Us on Monday to get an idea of where the items were that I wanted for Black Friday.  While I was there I found about half the things I had wanted were on an “early Black Friday sale” for Rewards members.  So I was able to get quite a few things!  Then I got online last night for Toys R Us and was able to order 95% of the other things I wanted.  I planned on a lot of things because they make good presents, not only for my kids, but for cousin’s for Christmas and for birthday gifts for friends (especially those that invite us with only a day or two advance notice!)  So that left me with only about four things I still wanted from Toys R Us.  Which worked well because the two friends who had said they would go with me ended up bailing on me so I was alone.  I invited Kylee to go with me since none of the presents were for her.  She’s a good little companion.  Now that they open so early, it’s really not that crowded or crazy.  They opened at 5:00 and we were home by 5:30.

The last few presents will be ordered from Amazon or a quick Target trip.  I’m excited to enjoy the month of December instead of stressing.  I still need to figure out some neighbor gifts.  I’d like something non-food but I don’t know.  I also need to purchase gifts for Secret Santa if we decide to do that again this year with my kids.  Ok, so the more I think about it, I realize I still have quite a bit to do.  I should probably start making lists and figuring out when I can tackle everything.  It's a busy, fun, amazing life we live.
