May Voice Recital

As I'm putting together my blog book for this year, I can't seem to find these pictures in any of the posts.  Which makes me think I must've not posted about it!  I think they were meant to be in the May post, but didn't make it.

The theme for the recital was "From the Movies".  Kylee chose to sing the song from Moana, before we had even seen the movie, lol.

This song was a little challenging for her because there's a lot of power at certain points.  I'm so proud of her for pursuing this talent and performing.

Leading up to the performance, she mentioned something to me about dressing the part and asked if I could get her a shell necklace from Hawaii.  I found a flower that I thought would be cute in her hair, but that's as far as I went.  She already has curly hair.  Can I just say that costumes stress me out.  People always act like it's no big deal to come dressed in costumes.  Pioneer clothing, nativity clothing, etc, etc.  It is not easy for me!  I do not keep a bunch of random costume clothing around.  So I wasn't planning on dressing her up at all.  The day before the recital, I mentioned something to my friends and they said they had a crimper for the hair.  And I finally jumped on Facebook asking my neighbors for Hawaiian clothing.  My neighbor came through and had a grass skirt and a shell necklace.  The crimper worked well and she had an awesome costume last minute.  Phew!

She did really well!  Those powerful notes are hard to hit.  The only boy who sang brought roses for all the girls.  It was pretty cute.

Heather is such a fun, energetic, caring person and teacher.  Kylee is lucky to get to take lessons from her.
