We heard about Railriders and it sounded fun so we made a reservation on the day we checked out of our resort. We got all packed up and headed south towards Tillamook. It was called Bay City and it was right on Tillamook Bay. It was kind of neat, we enjoyed seeing the land but I thought it would be more scenic. And pedaling was fun but doing it with kids meant we had to do most of the work. By the end I was very ready to be done. It was a nice one time experience. I wouldn't go back.
After the ride, we went to Cape Meares. The kids really wanted to see the Octopus tree, lol. It was once we got here that I felt like we were seeing the Oregon that I love. Dramatic, rocky shorelines, wildlife, etc.

On our way to Cape Meares we drove past a few beaches that looked interesting. On the way back, we stopped on the side of the road in Oceanside and went to explore. It was my favorite.
I'm glad we ended on that note because it reminded me how much I love Oregon. Gloomy weather or not.
We stopped at Tillamook for food and ice cream on the way out. We go some fried cheese curds, burgers and ice cream. Yum!
Then we headed for the long drive home. We stopped in Pendelton in a really old, not great hotel but it had three queen beds and we just needed a place to sleep and then hit the road again so it worked!
