Spring Break 2023- Hawaii (Kauai)

 We spent Spring Break 2023 in Hawaii.  Kauai is my favorite vacation destination.  It makes me so happy.  The mountains and the greenery and the beach and the flowers... We stayed at an airbnb in a resort in Kapaa.  It was perfect.  It was right across the street from Safeway and Mcdonald's.  It had a cool pool area with hottubs and it was on the beach.  It was only about 1/3 of a mile from the start of my running path and I ran it almost every day.  I'm obsessed with sunrise beach runs on this path.

Sadie was constantly begging people to come swim with her.  Kaden was pretty good about going with her but occasionally she just went alone.  She made some new friends one day.  Sometimes Ryan and I would swim with her.  Kylee swam with her on the rainy day, lol.

This was a little detour off the running path I took one day because I was intrigued.  It is just a boardwalk that meets a street up there but it's cool.

This was another little detour, a fun little tree canopy that led to a parking lot for a small beach off the path.

The path passes many beaches so I was able to see which ones would be good to go to.  This one had a lot of surfers that we watched and just enjoyed the sun and the waves on a Sunday afternoon. (We tried to go to church on Sunday but it turns out it was Stake Conference on the island, and the whole island is one Stake.  So we went back home and watched our own ward on the broadcast.)

Snow cones and poke bowls were my favorite. Ryan and I ate at these food trucks many times.  Food is expensive but so good.  The kids mostly ate at Mcdonald's or Panda Express or anywhere else easy.  They also had a lot of Ramen from Safeway because that was the only cheap thing and they love it.
