Oregon- Agate Beach

We went to Agate Beach after the lighthouse.  It was only 60 degrees outside, and we were thinking more about beach combing than actually swimming.  There was a lot of shallow water so we were wading through it.  We thought we might find some agates, since the beach is named that but no real luck.

It didn't take long for the kids to get deep enough in the waves to get their clothes wet.  I tried to tell them not to, that we didn't have dry clothes or a towel.  But they didn't care.  Even Kaden, this is the kid who will spill a bit of water when taking a drink and go in his room and change his shirt because he can't stand being wet.  He told me he didn't care that his clothes were getting wet and just kept running and having fun.

The little spider-looking crabs were easy to find when Ryan moved rocks.  A bit creepy, not as cute as the big ones.

We found a starfish that was smaller and less slimy looking than the day before.  This one was in the sand and the tide was going down.  I was worried about it.  Can they live out of the water for awhile?  We ended up moving it into the water more, but then found another one not long after.  I guess they probably do fine when it's not super hot outside.  Oh well.

The shallow water was fun!

It sure is a pretty beach!!  We were out there for over an hour and it was not hot so I hadn't even thought about sunscreen.  Kaden ended up really red!!  He said it didn't hurt and he didn't care but I felt really bad.  I had brought sunscreen on the trip, but it was back at the room.  Kylee and Dylan got a bit red too.
