Oregon- Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Cobble Beach

We got headed to Newport and got lunch, and then headed towards Yaquina Head Lighthouse but it was still really foggy!  I assumed you could probably see the lighthouse as you were driving up on a clear day.  But we couldn't see much at all.  I was thinking maybe it wasn't the best day to go to the lighthouse!  But it was okay, I think we saw what we needed to.  There was a little walk up the hill to the lighthouse.

 We didn't get to go inside the lighthouse.  But there was plenty of wildlife in the ocean and rocks around it.  There were whales out there along with all these birds and seals.  This pic just shows pelicans, but there were other birds gathered in places too.

Kaden made a friend on the path.

From the lighthouse area, there are stairs down to Cobble Beach.  This is a beach made of black rocks.  It was really cool.

There were seals all over the rocks off shore.  And some swimming too.

A ranger there told Dylan and Kaden not to throw the rocks, and Kaden got all upset because he got in trouble.  He's so sensitive about getting in trouble.
