Canopy Zipline in Liberia

We took a day trip a couple hours north to Liberia.  This is more of a tourist area, so I hear.  There were a couple famous waterfalls up that way and we had heard from a friend how much they liked the ziplining here. We've done ziplining before but this was inside a canyon and it looked really cool.  We ended up being the only ones in our group so that was really nice.  We were lucky that way a lot actually.  There was only one other guy in our canyoning group and there weren't very many other people around in the blue falls tour (we were the only ones with our tour guide).

Anyway, the drive off the mountain is a hassle, but it wasn't near as bad as the driving had been the last two times we had traveled.  This map shows how windy it is but you can't see how hilly it is.  It took some time to get off the mountain but then we hit a highway and that was NICE!  It was like normal driving.

This shows how narrow the roads were.  And I know this one is paved at least, but there were many potholes and many big patches of pavement missing so it was slow going.

Once on the highway, I was trying to figure out what these signs were referring to.  I think we decided it was a monkey, a deer, and a coati.  Yield is Ceda.  Speed bumps are called Reductor (reduce speed?)

Our excursion was booked wtih Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin.  This was a big business with lots of options and packages.  We considered driving around and seeing their waterfall but it was all extra money and there were some other waterfalls we wanted to see still. The took our pictures here too.  The scenery really was breathtaking.  Again the pictures don't seem to do it justice.  But I'm happy to have these memories.

These extra features were what sold me on this excursion.  Rock climbing up a canyon wall.  Swinging across the canyon (hooked into the ropes so it's not like it was hard, but still).
